Mission:
Wolf in the Fold: Hide and Seek
Location: USS Thunderbird | Various Locations
{And ... Back in the Intel Office]
"Let's track Trynn and Knox's movements tonight," Erik said after a moment. "Make sure they both leave our guest alone."
Turning from the group, McRae accessed the internal sensors to set up the tracking protocol. The console chirped, signaling the program was active and she called up the an overview of the ship which now showed two dots. One representing Knox, the other Trynn. The image split in two as the computer narrowed down the exact location.
Seeing the location of one of the dots outside the VIP quarters. Daegan leaned in next to McRae and slammed the comm on the console. "SECURITY TO DECK 2, VIP QUARTERS NOW!" Taking a lift from deck 15 to 2 would take too long. "Captain, a site to site transport will be the quickest way get there."
Dragos gave a start seeing this, her eyes fixed on the screen, her eyes flashed back over towards Erik.
"I agree." Tatiana stated.
[VIP Quarters]
There was complete silence as the blade, now drenched in blood, fell to the floor. Now she could finally rest and bring an end to the pain and torment which had overshadowed her life for far too long. Closing her eyes she could feel the coldness sweeping through her veins and she welcomed it. Very soon it would all be over.
[Just Outside VIP Quarters]
"Authorized," Erik said as he rose to his feet. "Transporter Room, site-to-site transport. Everyone in this room to Deck 2. The corridor nearest VIP Quarters." He looked around to ensure that everyone was standing. "Engage." The room dissolved and in a moment, they were standing in the corridor, just a few feet from the VIP Quarters. As he took in the scene, Erik barked, "Bridge, Dr. Ryan down here now."
McRae, nearest the unconscious guard, knelt down to check on her. “No sign of injury but she’s out cold,” she reported, relieved to find a steady (if slow) pulse. “And we have an extra comm badge.” She pointed to where the familiar piece of equipment had fallen, half hidden by the unfortunate Ensign. She knew the others would connect the dots just as quickly.
Dr. Patrick Ryan moved quickly down the corridor when the call came through, medical kit already in hand as he rounded the corner toward the VIP Quarters. “Out of the way,” he said calmly but firmly as he dropped to one knee beside the unconscious guard McRae had checked. His tricorder activated with a soft whine as he swept it over her. “Pulse slow but stable,” Ryan reported. “Neurological pattern consistent with a stun setting. She’ll wake up with a headache and some colorful language for whoever did it.”
Erik turned to his Chief of Security. "Baas. Get in there now," he said as he gestured toward the closed doors to VIP Quarters.
Baas had had his phaser drawn even before the transporter had taken hold. A security team was arriving as he took position. One member of the team stood ready to open the door. With a sharp nod the door was overloaded so that it slid open rapidly and not at the usual gentle pace. Darting in, he swept left while the other swept right.
Nothing.
Moving towards the bedroom, Daegan came in low seeing Trynn standing with the a bloodied knife at her feet. Erroring on the side of caution, he stunned her and moved to catch her as she dropped to the floor. Shouting back to the others, "All Clear! We need a medical team in here!"
Patrick rose as Baas called out from inside.
Erik followed the team in and stood, watching at a distance. "Bridge, this is the Captain. Have someone secure Lieutenant Trynn's quarters and lock down the shuttlebay and all transporter rooms until I give the all-clear."
"Bridge here, Captain. Shuttlebay and all transportations shut down pending your authorization. Anything else you need, Sir?"
"Not at the moment," Erik said. "Norsgaard out."
Ryan stepped into the quarters—and stopped for half a beat as the scene registered. Relen lay in his bed, blood pooling beneath him from a stab wound. A few feet away Trynn had collapsed, the knife lying near her feet but no obvious stab wounds visible.
“Male patient first—deep abdominal penetration wound,” he called out, voice shifting fully into trauma mode. “Significant blood loss but he’s still alive.” He pressed a field bandage over the wound, activating a compression seal. “I need a trauma kit here now and a stretcher ready. We stabilize before transport.”
Once the pressure field was holding, Ryan pivoted to Trynn. The tricorder sweep made his brow tighten slightly.
“That’s… not a stab wound.” He ran a deeper scan. “Patient two is suffering from acute systemic poisoning,” Ryan reported. “Severe toxin levels in the bloodstream and respiratory suppression.” He quickly applied a hypospray and began emergency countermeasures. “I don’t know what she took yet, but it’s fast acting.”
Ryan looked up toward the security team. “Transporter lock for two medical emergencies. Now would be an excellent time.”
"Bridge," Erik said, his voice coming through crisp and authoritative, "site-to-site transport on Doctor Ryan, Relen Zelar and Lieutenant Trynn. My authorization."
"Aye, Sir," came the response. "Transporting now."
They disappeared in a transporter haze and Erik turned toward Baas. "Baas, have your team process this scene and I want Trynn under guard. MacRae and I will head down to Trynn's quarters. Once you're done here, please join us."
"I'll stay here and help Baas to check out the place as well." Tatiana speaking up. She felt that her skills would help in this matter.
"Very good," Erik said. "Perhaps the two of you could check out Trynn's office as well. And that reminds me. Computer, effective immediately, suspend all rights, privileges and access currently held by Lieutenant Ayryn Trynn and remove her from the manifest as ship's Counselor."
"Lieutenant Ayryn Trynn is no longer a member of the ship's crew," the computer responded.
"Let's get moving people," Erik said as he sighed, quietly, barely a breath of sound, "I want answers." He headed out of the room to find Caitlyn.
As the place got busier, MacRae had drifted back out into the corridor. Out here all seemed quiet with the medics having taken the unconscious guard to Sickbay. She heard her name and was already summoning a turbolift before their captain emerged from the latest crime scene.
This was a perplexing situation, Tatiana felt that it would be solved. Just who was this person who decided to cause all of this havoc. This on her new home, not good ,not good at all.
"Trynn's office will be looked at thoroughly. " Tatiana giving a nod. "Will make certain to do so."
